Pearl Jam Live x3

Tuesday, the 11th was the start of an amazing weekend for me. As I've told here I was able to secure tickets for Pearl Jam's "intimate" concert at Shepherd's Bush Empire (2000 people capacity). I went with a Portuguese friend that lives in London. We were seated on the 3rd level, a bit far away from the action but you could still feel the great atmosphere. This was a more calm concert with great songs, though they didn't play my old time favorite: Black. After the concert was over we went for some pints with some friend and the we caught the tube home. I was going to commute at King's Cross to catch the Northern Line but decided to change at Euston because there were some works in King's Cross during the weekend. As I was going downstair to the platform I start hearing Black. One of those tube musicians was playing Black exactly at the same time I was there, what an amazing coincidence! That was first time I gave one of those guys money. You can read more about the concert here and here (Portuguese).



Last Thursday I flew to Amsterdam to meet a Portuguese friend living there. Then we went to Rotterdam for my second concert of this tour. We arrived there just 5 min before Pearl Jam opened the concert, enough time to buy some beers. They started by saying something like "It's been a long time since we were here" and played "Elderly Woman Behind the Counter in a Small Town". Great start! From then on they rocked, amazing pace, didn't stop much to speak. 2h hours of pure joy. Check the setlist here. At some point my friend went to buy some beers but instead he bough us two Pearl Jam t-shirts, thanks mate ;)

Yesterday was the last concert at the O2 Arena in London. This time I had fan tickets which would allow me and my flatmate to get in earlier. That proved to be quite good as we secured a very good position. First band was Gomez which I never heard before. The lead singer has an impressive voice. And then it was time for Pearl Jam. They opened the concert the same way they did in Atlanta 94, with Release and then, just like in Rotterdam they went for a breathtaking set of songs. When Animal started the crowd went crazy and before I realised what happened I lost my flatmate and was standing almost in front of the stage, with only 3 rows of people separating me from the barrier. That area was so packed I could barely fill my chest with air, let alone sing. That's the sensation of having 8000 people pushing you...

The first part of the concert was breathtaking, and continued on. My highlights are Immortality, Footsteps, Crazy Mary, Rats and a great version of Black ending with everyone singing along "we belong together, together". Check here for the complete setlist. An impressive two and half hours of great songs very well played. One of my best PJ concerts yet!

By the end of the concert I was covered in sweat from head to toes. My phone, that was inside my pocket was wet and slippery. But all of it was worth it.

Fire Destroys School

While I was in Portugal on holiday, something very sad happened, the primary school near my flat was destroyed by fire. It was really sad to approach home on Sunday and feel the burnt smell...

Intense weekend in Portugal

Last weekend in Portugal was a blast! Still recovering from it...

Arrived to Lisbon and a friend of mine from university took me to his place where together with other friends we played a nice poker session till midnight. Next morning I got my repaired car from my grandpa and went to Lisbon for my last dissertation interview. After some annoying questions like "why are you taken so long to finish your Masters?" and a demonstration of their system I was told I would get the job :-)

Back to Setúbal, had some nice pizza at "Pizzaria Bonfim", bought groceries for dinner and hit the beach with a couple of friends. This time I went to Galapinhos beach, my first time this year! Went directly from the beach to the kitchen to cook a typical "Bacalhau com Natas" (cod fish with cream) for me and 5 close friends. Lesson from that day: cooking for 6 is different than cooking for 1 or 2! We had a beautiful wine to go with it: Reguengos 2005 Reserve. Everyone ate their food and no one died, which made me feel proud:) Afterwards we had some crepes with ice cream:)

We finished that night on the terrace of a bar called "Três 15 dias". My first time there and is not bad at all, lovely atmosphere though the staff is not the most welcoming one...

Saturday went south to Carvalhal. A 100km car trip (the ferry boat is now to expensive to be worthwhile) to meet a friend I haven't seen for 6 months! Last time I saw him was when he visited me here. The weather was not good enough to go to the beach so we opted to drink some beers in a esplanade and then had lunch in a restaurante just outside Carvalhal. Afterwards got back to Setúbal.

The night started out with a dish of "Secretos de Porco Preto" in Don Xicha and a nice bottle of wine in the company of a lovely friend. And then we went to a birthday party in our friend's house. Saw some old faces and caught up on lost time and some lost "minis" (20cl bottles of beer) :D Afterwards Kaneco and then Clubíssimo (used to be a nice big club, now it's just ridiculous. After Clubíssimo close (around 6 or 7) we went near the river where the birthday guy remembered it was a good time for swim. It has his day so I wasn't going to say no, so me and another friend join him in a morning swim. Hope it helped to make that day more memorable;)

After barely sleeping 4 hours the phone rings, an uncle of mine asks me to help him carrying some "boxes". The "boxes" included two baby beds and a cabinet. Nice exercise to cure a hung over:) After lunch with my brother I spent a nice afternoon by a friend's swimming pool. From there I went directly to Lisbon's airport where I caught my (late) flight home.

Can't wait for next weekend in Portugal which will include the company of some friends from London:)

Mariza @ Coliseu dos Recreios

Como tinha twittado aqui, a Mariza vai dar 4 concertos nos Coliseus, dois em Lisboa (31/10 e 01/01) e dois no Porto (29 e 30/10). No Porto, os bilhetes custam entre 18 e 40 euros e em Lisboa entre 20 euros e 50 euros (fonte: Blitz).

Já fui a alguns concertos no Coliseu dos Recreios e acho-a uma das melhores salas de espectáculos em Lisboa. Apesar de não ser tão adequada para o fado como uma Casa de Fados aposto que será um espectáculo digno de ver.

Só vi a Mariza uma vez e gostei tanto que já comprei dois bilhetes para a fila A da plateia do Coliseu para a ver bem de perto no dia 31/10 :D

Estou ansioso...

Pearl Jam @ Shepherds Bush Empire

One week ago, Pearl Jam announced what every fan wishes: an "intimate" concert for 2000 people on the welcoming Shepherds Bush Empire. If you consider most their concerts are for 15 000-50 000, it's quite a limited opportunity. Even though I already had bought other tickets for their European tour, this was the concert to be at. One lifetime opportunity and it was happening in the city where I'm only living for 18 months. I couldn't miss it but it would be a painful process to get tickets...

First I pre-ordered their album Backfixer from hmv.com to be eligible to buy the pre-sale tickets on Tuesday. Tuesday arrived and I never received the email with the link :( From what you can read in the Pearl Jam forum, the tickets disappeared in something like 2 minutes.

Second attempt, Ten Club (the fan club) lottery. I didn't get them... Only hope to wait for the general sale today.

1st ray of hope: hmv recognised there was an issue sending me the email with the pre-sale link so they sent me an email yesterday with a link so I could have some advantage today at 9:00.

Before 9 I was refreshing my browser like mad at both the hmv site and the general sale site. 9'clock arrived and I was able to start ordering tickets from hmv but at some point it failed with some error I couldn't get through. On the general sale site, I got in, put 2 tickets on my basket and when I submit the last form I get an error complaining about the phone number format (because it had the + sign). I corrected it, repeated some steps and as I checkout the tickets they were no longer available! Argh!!! From then on I was unable to even start a new order and I was feeling completely gutted...

2nd ray of hope: hmv sends me an email stating there was a technical issue during the morning and that they would repeat the sale again at 3:30. The only problem was that I would have a meeting with a vendor representant at that time. When he arrived I told him I would need 15 min of "personal time" around 3:30 which he didn't mind at all. The funny part was that at 3:30 he actually stayed by my side me and help me with the ordering process. 3:30 came and everything went very smoothly. 2 tickets for the 3rd level bought:) I couldn't contain myself and lifted my arms in excitement. Funny thing to do during work:D

I still don't who will come with me to the concert but I'm sure it's going to be one of our best concerts ever! Today I'm smiling :D

Fim-de-semana longo em Portugal

Fim-de-semana longo em Portugal: desta vez tirei a 6ª feira de férias. Foi um fim-de-semana terapêutico, fiz imensa praia e arrumei a casa no que toca alguns assuntos académicos, pessoais e emocionais. Ironicamente a casa literal, mais propriamente o meu quarto, permanece desarrumado!

O arranque desta pausa foi lento. Em parte por não ter combinado nada a priori, um grande erro quando se quer ver vários amigos e familiares, e porque houve mais uns percalços. O vôo chegou atrasado, perdi autocarros e acabei por ir de comboio. No comboio, via telefone, descobri que não iria ter carro pois estava avariado. A chave ficou presa na ignição e o meu avó, coitado, teve que tratar de tudo... além do stress numa idade em que não precisa deles. Acabei por ir a pé da estação de comboio até casa por (falta de planeamento) não ter ninguém para me ir buscar. A única parte chata disto é que a bela da calçada portuguesa não é trolley friendly.

Na Sexta tratei de um assunto académico pendente deste Junho, a atribuição da dissertação de mestrado. Tive uma entrevista com o meu, talvez, futuro orientador que ficou satisfeito e me passou à 2a fase: entrevista na Zon.

Ainda voltei a Setúbal a tempo de almoçar na casa dos meus avós, hospitaleiros como sempre. Ao final da tarde, fui dar um mergulho na praia de Galapos com amigos que não via há demasiado tempo. Para concluir o dia, um jantar de aniversário com muitas caras conhecidas e algumas novas que se revelaram ser pessoas muito agradáveis. A festa terminou numa discoteca manhosa em Palmela, mas como o grupo era porreiro isso não afectou a noite.

Sábado, almoço na casa dos meus tios mais novos em que se comeu o belo do frango da Crisbeta. Ainda houve espaço para uma conversa profunda sobre assuntos da alma. Calhou muito bem porque há tarde teria na praia dos Coelhos uma conversa de "arrumação sentimental" que já estava 5 meses atrasada. À noite, um jantar na companhia de amigos próximos de longa data na Taverna da Ladeira regado com tinto (excepto para os meninos) :P

Domingo, passei o dia na praia dos Coelhos com o meu irmão, "cunhada" e um outro casal. Estacionar revelou-se um pesadelo. Devido ao aumento dos preços dos barcos para Tróia, as pessoas passaram a ir para as praias da serra dificultando a vida a todos. Dificuldades à parte, passou-se um grande dia, Até aproveitei para fazer algum exercício e nadei desde os Coelhos até Galapinhos.

O regresso, tal como a ida foi atribulado. A easyjet ofereceu-me um atraso de 1h15 e o pessoal de terra do aeroporto de Gatwick contribuiu mais um pouco ao nos deixar em pista uns 15 min. Perdi o comboio das 0:15 para London Bridge, tendo que apanhar o comboio Gatwick Express às 0:50 para Victoria Station que custa o dobro e fica mais longe de casa. Com o autocarro e andar até casa só me deitei às 2:20. Obrigado Easyjet por me roubar horas de vida!

Grande conclusão do fim-de-semana, planear bem as coisas (como fazia antes) para conseguir ver as pessoas. Não posso estar à espera de chegar, fazer uns telefonemas e a malta aterrar de pára-quedas.

Daqui a 10 dias novo fim-de-semana longo:) Nem Londres me afasta da praia!

Semana em Portugal

Passei a última semana de Junho em Portugal e foi maravilhosa. Basicamente fiz praia, praia e praia! Ainda assim houve os seus precalços...

Partida para Portugal

Saí do trabalho, cheguei à estação de comboio, escolho um bilhete de ida-e-volta para Gatwick coloco o cartão multibanco e erro. Volto a tentar, erro novamente. Em desespero para não chegar atrasado ao comboio coloco o meu cartão português e não aceita (a máquina não gostava de Maestro). Olho para o placard dos comboios e vejo que perdi o comboio. Lá me dirijo à bilheteira e consigo comprar o bilhete com o cartão inglês, resultado: atraso de 15 min. Ainda deu para chegar ao aeroporto a tempo, aliás, com muitooooo tempo de margem como viria a descobrir mais tarde. O vôo deveria partir às 16:45, o que implica começar o embarque 30 min antes. Quando chego ao duty free podia ler no placard das partidas "Gate opens 16:43" = 28 min. atraso. Depois mudou para 17:25, depois 17:45 e a hora final acabaria por ser 18:45. Cheguei a Lisboa com 3 horas de atraso! Para piorar as coisas já não cheguei a tempo de apanhar o autocarro das 22:45 da Gare do Oriente e só acabei por apanhar o autocarro das 23:30, chegando a Setúbal às 0:15. Demorei 10h da porta do trabalho até Setúbal!!

Primeiro Fim-de-semana

Algumas saídas com amigos, pôr a conversa em dia e o baptizado do meu priminho mais novo. O almoço foi num sítio que desconhecia por completo: Casa do Alentejo, junto ao Coliseu em Lisboa. De fora não aparenta ser nada, mas por dentro é impressionante.

Semana

Praia, praia, praia. Onde? Nas praias da Arrábida, em especial na Praia dos Coelhos. Apanhei uns dias muito bons, deu para tirar a barriga de misérias:)

Sábado

Tróia. Não posso deixar de ficar desiludido com aquilo que a Sonae está a fazer em Tróia, além dos elevados preços dos barcos. Apesar de ser algo muito melhor e mais bem pensado que o Algarve, continua a ser uma quantidade excessiva de betão para uma zona protegida. Outro aspecto negativo, não deixaram quase espaço nenhum para se estacionar gratuitamente em Tróia tendo criado 5 parques de estacionamento pagos para lucrar à custa dos visitantes.

Carvalhal (mais propriamente Pêgo). Agora há dois estacionamentos, o dos ricos e o dos pobres. Como não bastava a Sonae roubar a Tróia aos Setubalenses, também se sente a segregação ao ir à praia do Pêgo. O antigo estacionamento público agora é pago e não se paga pouco. 4€ aos fins-de-semana. Há outro estacionamento consideravelmente mais distante de borla para os pobres. Como descobri, ser pobre implica estar/ficar em forma pois tivemos que andar bastante para chegar à praia. No estacionamento tinham um placa a dizer que 15% do dinheiro era para a manutenção dos acessos e das praias, então e os restantes 85%? Enchem os bolsos a quem? Enfim... até ir à praia se começa a tornar um luxo...

Regresso

A minha semana acabaria da mesma forma como começou, mal. Chego à porta de embarque e o que está escrito no ecrã? "Atraso/Delay 22:30". Lá tive que gramar com 1:30 de atraso. Mas não ficaria por aí, por causa disso fui obrigado a apanhar o Gatwick Express para Londres que representou uma despesa adicional de £16. Além disso a estação de destino (Victoria) não fica de todo perto da minha casa que me obrigou a fazer um percurso considerável de autocarro e ainda a andar uns 15 min. Deitei-me às 3h para acordar 6h pois fazia suporte na Segunda, argh.

Conclusão

Apesar das peripécias foi uma excelente semana que me deixa cheio de saudades por voltar a repetir. Nada como Sol, praia e mar :D

Coraline 3D and Star Trek

Last month I found some time to go to the cinema and saw Coraline 3D and Star Trek.

Coraline 3D was my first 3D film and I actually enjoy it quite a lot. It took some time for my eyes to get used to it as 2D images don't demand so much. The plot itself is not innovative, the average kids tale but is very well told and very well drawn. Totally worth it!

I confess I wasn't expecting much from Star Trek, though it would be just action and nothing more. Even though is not MUCH more it does have some extras. The actors did a terrific job imitating their predecessors' gestures and expressions. Even though I wasn't a huge fan of the 70's shows/films I felt I was watching their younger versions. The humour is quite good and the film is fast paced as the trailers suggested. Quite good.

Wolverine

Wolverine foi um dos filmes mais aguardados deste ano. É uma das personagens mais bem construídas do universo Marvel pela sua complexidade e cariz anti-herói. Além disso, Hugh Jackman veste muito bem a sua pele não admirando ter sido a 1a escolha entre os X-Men para ter o seu próprio filme.

Confesso que eu próprio não conhecia muito do passado do Wolverine. O que sabia foi de flashbacks que eventualmente apareciam nos desenhos animados e da informações extra que o meu irmão me oferecia. No entanto, quer pela influência do meu irmão como por ser "denso", rapidamente se tornou o meu elemento favorito dos X-Men.

O filme. Como sempre, ia preparado para o pior, as adaptações da Marvel não têm sido as melhores (e estou a ser simpático). Como hoje em dia as pessoas parecem contentar-se com pouco, acção acelerada e pouca conversa, os realizadores também não de esforçam (só os criadores de animação computadorizada). Por causa das minhas baixas expectativas saí bastante feliz do filme. A acção é sem muitos exageros, os principais actores tiveram um bom desempenho e a alteração da história à volta das garras, inteligente. Sem dúvida um filme que vale a pena ver.

Mas... e há sempre um mas, não é um filme para os verdadeiros fãs

Era bom que as houvesse mais adaptações como os Watchmen. A arte não deveria ser tão corrompida pelos lucros fáceis. Os artistas originais e os seus fãs merecem mais respeito..

Visita do irmão e "cunhada"

O irmão e a "cunhada" vieram cá passar um fim-de-semana comigo. Demos um longo passeio de cerca de 12 kms desde Oxford Circus até Tower Bridge. Finalmente vi o Tate Modern que valeu muito a pena! Algumas fotos:

HMS Belfast

VR+: Voice Messenger

Uma das aplicações que a Apple falhou a colocar no primeiro iPhone foi gravação de voz. Por causa disso, várias pessoas/empresas desenvolveram as suas. Uma que me chamou a atenção foi esta:

O que me atraiu foi que em vez de se ficarem pela gravação das notas áudio, deram um passo extra e tomaram partido das capacidades de internet do iPhone. O VR+ permite a partilha instantânea das notas audio em redes sociais como o twitter e o facebook ou apenas guardá-las numa conta pessoa no seu website. Já experimentei e funciona muito bem como podem ouvir aqui.

Glasgow

Como tinha escrito aqui, a ousadia premiou-me com um curso de 3 dias em Glasgow. Fiquei instalado no Malmaison que ficava perto de tudo, incluindo o escritório.

Glasgow é uma cidade que convida a ser percorrida a pé. Nada fica muito longe e as ruas têm passeios largos. Uma coisa que também é notória é o número elevado de igrejas. Apesar de não ter tido oportunidade de explorar por mim mesmo, há vários bares nocturnos com música rock ao vivo. Valeram bem os 3 dias lá passados, especialmente considerando o custo :)

Hampstead Heath

Só recentemente fui a Hampstead Heath e fiquei maravilhado! Trata-se da zona verde maior e mais antiga de Londres e encontra-se num dos pontos mais altos de Londres proporcionando uma excelente vista. Consegue-se perder imenso tempo a passear por lá, por entre zonas densas e clareiras respirando algum ar puro (bem raro e precioso em Londres).

Empregadas de limpeza que se acham mães

No outro dia chego a casa e, antes de entrar, vejo no caixote de reciclagem o meu saco de papel da O2 (minha rede móvel). Espreito para dentro e, além de um bule partido, lá estava o meu contracto de telemóvel mais tralha relacionada com os dois cartões SIM que possuo. Ia-me passando. Porque raio a empregada de limpeza tem de se achar minha mãe e decidir que um saco que se encontra num canto do meu quarto há 10 meses é lixo? Já uns meses antes me havia deitado fora uns talões que tinha na minha mesinha de cabeceira. Argh

Após me acalmar um bocadinho lá lhe escrevi uma nota para não deitar nada fora.

Além disso a senhora insiste em (des)arrumar as coisas que tenho no quarto. Não compreendo como uma senhora que vem à minha casa duas horas por semana se acha melhor qualificada que eu para decidir onde as coisas devem estar. Enfim, pelo menos as coisas ficam limpas..

Grease: the Musical

With several friends here we went to see Grease. A very childish musical, with voices in a very high pitch... According to one of my friends it was very similar to the film. Some nice jokes... but generally it failed to impress me.

On the same day of the marathon, a couple of Portuguese friends arrived London to do some sightseeing. We ate lunch at a pub and then walked from Victoria, across Chelsea, Battersea Park till we got to the London Eye. Some pictures:

Decisões consumistas

No outro dia apercebi-me que tanto o meu portátil como máquina fotográfica já têm 5 aninhos. Estão a ficar velhos como o seu dono...

Por isso, e porque o portátil já gagueja com vídeos do youtube, vou substituí-lo por volta do 1º trimestre de 2010. Calha bem porque coincide com início da minha Dissertação de Mestrado e com o lançamento dos novos portáteis com processadores Arrandale, e com sorte com o lançamento do novo MacBook. Vamos ver se os rumores se confirmam.

Já a máquina fotográfica só vai ver a reforma quando voltar a ter um emprego, como Sr. Eng (Setembro de 2010?). Nessa altura devo abalançar-me para uma D-SLR com live preview e vídeo. Talvez a Sony já tenha uma proposta interessante nessa altura...

Após receber o primeiro ordenado como Sr. Eng. talvez seja altura de também reformar o telemóvel por qualquer coisa como: Google Android, HTC, Asus ou outro iPhone.

I can imagine them saying "sorry mate, you brought too much stuff, you're not flying today!"

This is great for them, because low cost companies usually operate by overbooking (booking more tickets than seats) expecting a certain percentage of people to miss their plane. Of course sometimes their prediction fails and they have to reimburse someone. This way, if they need an extra seat they just deny boarding to the unlucky bastard who bought stuff in the duty free shop. Great management decision!

That's the way to go Ryanair, with this measure you're surely going to become #1 in client satisfaction (sarcasm)!

Isto merecia uma festa não fosse pelo facto que o feed principal deles, o Minuto a Minuto (feed) está sempre com um atraso de um dia, pelo menos durante a última semana... Isto é ridículo, por causa disso nunca consigo apanhar estas notícias no meu agregador de notícias pois aparecem centenas antes (as mais recentes), obrigando-me a ir lá de propósito!

Enfim... boa tentativa, mas não boa o suficiente! Pode ser que o AngoNotícias, o AngolaDigital ou o Jornal de Angola respondam com um feed actualizado. Ou então espero pelo lançamento da edição angolana do Sol.

Será assim tão difícil? Já existe código gratuito em php que faz isto!!!!! Argh...

Mahiki

A month ago I went to a friend's birthday party at Mahiki. Mahiki is a bar in the West End and the décor, environment and music are fantastic. You really feel in a different world. Check the photos at their website.

As you would expect, this features don't come cheap. All cocktails are above £10 and 33cl bottle of beer costs £6,50. I you want to book 10 people table you have to pay something like £500...

If you can afford it, it's worth it ;)

Portugal: o meu Mundo

A minha reflexão do dia.

Antes de vir para cá, ouvi muitas pessoas dizer que Portugal era um "fim de mundo" ou que sairiam se tivessem uma oportunidade. Eu estou naquilo a que muitos chamam o "centro do mundo" e nunca me senti tão longe do Mundo... O meu Mundo é um lugar com Sol, mar, praia, comida saborosa, pessoas calorosas, mas sobretudo junto daqueles que Amo: família, namorada e amigos.

Curso em Glasgow

Era suposto ir a um curso interno por aqui, mas o curso foi cancelado e deram-me a indicação que um curso semlhante ia decorrer em Glasgow. Perguntei à nossa assistente que se senta atrás de mim, e que também ia ao curso, qual era a probabilidade de nos pagaram a ida a Glasgow. Disse que o chefe do meu chefe nunca aceitaria. Enchi o peito e reencaminhei o email para o meu chefe dizendo: "Alguma hipótese de ir a Glasgow?"

Passados uns dias, recebo um email do meu chefe a dizer para pedir a ela para marcar o vôo e o hotel. Este email incluia a resposta do chefe dele que era um simples "Yes". Chamei a assistente e com um sorriso de orelha a orelha, disse-lhe "lê este email". Ela ficou pálida... :D Disse-lhe para ela também pedir para ir, o que ela fez e acabámos por ir os dois a Glasgow.

Conclusão: compensa ter tomates!

Malefícios do twitter no trabalho

Há umas semanas tive a ideia infeliz de tirar uma foto no trabalho e pô-la no twitter, que por sua vez foi para o Facebook. Não se via nada a não ser um escadote e uma cobertura de plástico... mas o meu chefe viu e por piada falou ao seu chefe e digamos que ele não gostou :(

Felizmente só disse que não podia fazer aquilo e isso foi-me comunicado pelo meu chefe. Consoante o tipo de empresa em que trabalham, tenham cuidado com aquilo que publicam na internet...

Synergy - the software data switch

Do you have multiple computers at home, each with its own screen? Have you ever thought about controlling them both with only one keyboard and mouse?

Here's the solution:

Many people nowadays have at least a desktop and laptop, but working on both simultaneously can be a pain because of the constant switch between keyboards and mice. Synergy allows you to control one PC from another one seamlessly, you just move the mouse from one screen to the other one! And you can even copy & paste between computers!!

Synergy is a client/server application that you install on the machines you want to control. The machine with the keyboard and mouse you'll use to control the others is configured as a server and the others as clients. Synergy can be used across different Operating Systems!

Agora já podem receber os meus posts por email! Assim já não precisam de se chatear a vir ao blog. Viva a preguiça;)

Para tal basta colocarem o vosso email na caixinha situada na barra lateral direita, clicarem em "subscrever" e seguirem as indicações.

PS: Uma coisa boa desta subscrição é que não recebem mais que um email por dia! Ou seja, se tiver escrito posts que nem um maluco num determinado dia, recebem um email apenas com todos esses posts. Se não tiver escrito nada, não recebem nada;)

Google Reader Shared Items on Twitter

As I've mentioned before, Google Reader is a very good RSS Feed Aggregator. Not only has a nice and straightforward interface you can use it from any device with an internet connection with the big advantage of always knowing which news you've read.



One of the nice features of Google Reader is the ability of sharing news. Near each news there is a button saying "Share" and when you do that a page like this is created:
http://www.google.com/reader/shared/00884258826837891140

If you give this link to someone he or she will be able to follow your shared news. Now this page itself has a RSS Feed which means you can use it, through twitterfeed.com to share each shared news as a tweet. The process is similar to what I've did here.

What's the advantage of this? You no longer have to copy & paste links to articles, just hit "Share with note" on Google Reader, type what you want and some minutes later that message and link will appear on twitter.
